Our company name is Alvebakken (translates Elf Hill), our 25 m2 Viking hytte/roundhouse B&B is located on the island of Sandhornøy, 1 hour and a half outside the main city of Bodø, in the Arctic Norway and we can guarantee, if you choose a one week vacation with us, you will experience the Arctic like never before!

We can guarantee you will experience the real Arctic, see the fjords, walk the mountains, chasing and photographing Northern Lights and bonfires on the beach under the Midnight Sun (according to weather conditions and the season you will travel to Norway) cooking Norwegian Food on fires in the woods, making bonfires in old viking settlements, visiting viking burial mounds, lots of fun activities like Quartz collecting on breathtaking beaches, clay baths during the summer (see image), pine sap harvesting in the forests and many more!

We usually charge 679£ a week per person, there will be discounts for two or more peeps! The formula includes food (traditional Arctic meals), daily tours to several attractions in the area and wifi.

The activities change seasonally of course if you visit in the summer there will be no northern lights for example but the midnight sun :)

If you travel in 2 you may want to select quantity 2 at the check out and then send us a message to agree the date you would like to travel to Norway and we will give you all the advice you need :)

No alcohol is included in our formula, but of course you are absolutely free to purchase it!
The airport is in Bodø! You can reach the island in 1 and 20 min drive via taxi, booking in advance a pick up and drop off service with us, via bus or via fast boat in 25 mins!

Please note that the 25% of your trip price will not be refunded if you cancel your trip.
Cancelations are allowed till 14 days prior arrival.

The owners of this Arctic shop, Freyia Norling, Daniel Fredriksen and Sannie Swift are on the Path of Faery, they follow and practice the Old Religion of Faerie, this added knowledge makes Alvebakken not just a Faery shop but a place where lots of people, Faery lovers and enthusiasts, gather not just to purchase Faery ornaments but to experience something more profound, a deeper relationship with Nature Spirits, the spirits of the land, the huldufolk whose presence, in this remote corner of the world, is extremely tangible!
The 3 owners of the shoppe also offer seminars, lectures and walks here in the Arctic Norway on how to expand and increase your communication with the little people residing in this corner of the Arctic.
