Indie Distribution ble startet opp i 2005 av en kreativ gjeng med lang erfaring fra plateselskap, platebutikker, postordreselskap, musikkmagasiner og konsert- og turnéorganisering.
Indie Distribution har frem til 2014 vært eksklusiv distributør av hundrevis av kvalitetslabler som Nuclear Blast, SPV, Peaceville, Glitterhouse, Blue Rose, Season Of Mist, Metal Blade, Napalm, Pias, Bad Taste, Play It Again Sam, Bloodshot, Fat Wreck, Dark Essence/Karisma, Saddle Creek, Century Media, Fat Possum, Prophecy, Fire Records, Real World, Roadrunner (vinyl), Rise Above, Prosthetic, Wichita og mange, mange flere.
I 2014 avviklet man av naturlige årsaker import av fysisk produkt. I dag er Indie Distribution et serviceselskap, se VÅRE TJENESTER (link the site) for full oversikt.:
I tillegg til Indie Distribution drives Norges fremste rock og metal-label, Indie Recordings, av gjengen bak Indie Distribution. Indie Recordings har band som Kvelertak, Satyricon, Shining, Cult Of Luna, 1349, Sahg, El Caco m.fl.i stallen.
